Donegal Bay Coastal Walks

Bundoran is best explored on foot, our favourite trails include:

Cliff Walk

From the hotel walk towards the west end, past Bayview Avenue where you can take in the wonderful views of the Peak and Donegal Bay. Continuing along past the Lifeboat Station you will see signs for the Cliff Walk. The cliff path is an exhilarating walk and affords you amazing views, on clear days you can see the cliffs of Slieve League on the opposite side of Donegal Bay which rise 600 metres from the seas.

The Rougey Walk

The well-lit paths of the Rougey Walk take you up from Bundoran beach to the cliff tops to Aughris Point with breath-taking views towards Slieve League and Bluestack Mountains. Following the path along you will come to the “Fairy Bridges” cliff-arches carved out by the mighty Atlantic. Stop off at the Wishing Chair – Bundorans answer to the Blareny Stone. The views behind you of the Tullan Strand stretch back from the cliffs for miles as you follow the road back down to the village.

Sculpture Trail

Dotted throughout the village and promenade are 7 unique pieces of sculpture which capture essences of Bundoran. Finding each is perfect for an evening stroll or as a treasure hunt for the kids!

Bundoran maps and full details of all these walks are available from the hotel reception
